Regulated savings accounts have a separate tax status for the income received from savings (the interest they generate). Each person is allowed a certain amount of interest tax free.
In Belgium, you can have up to and including €1020 per person interest without paying any withholding tax. If your interest is greater than this, you will pay a withholding tax of 15%.
